Nollywood produce 'Ebola' film
Lagos - A movie titled Ebola has
been released into the Nigerian
market, reports Pulse.ng
A movie producer has taken
advantage of the Ebola Virus outbreak to rake in cash.
This will not be the first time that
Nollywood is taking advantage of
an unfortunate situation.
Nollywood producers have made
films based on the four students of the University of Port Harcourt who were burnt to death by the Aluu Community in October 2012.
They also made a film based on the kidnapping of the female students of the Government Secondary School in Chibok which happened in April this year.
The rumours of a possible film on
Ebola has finally come to fruition
with this film.
PDP Made Ribadu A Laughing Stock - Kwankwaso
Governor Rabi’u Kwanwaso of
Kano State said the former EFCC
chairman, Nuhu Ribadu has been made a laughing stock by the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) who dropped him from the Adamawa gubernatorial race.
The governor stated this yesterday, September 10, at the
Government House in Kano while
receiving merit awards from two
NGOs namely, APC Kwankwasiyya
Amana, Bauchi state chapter and
Nigeria 774 Kwankwasiyya Merger:
Kwankwaso for President, Leadership reports.
Ribadu who recently defected
from the APC and seven other
governorship aspirants stepped
down last week from the race for
the gubernatorial ticket, under the
platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
Kwankwaso said: “After he left the
APC for the PDP, his new party did
not find him worthy of its
gubernatorial ticket. I am sure the
PDP stakeholders in Adamawa are
now laughing at him. We sympathise with him”.
According to him, the Adamawa
state PDP chose a candidate
whom most of their supporters
see as incompetent, while
pointing out that APC had come
up with a credible candidate in
person of Senator Muhammad
Jibrila Bindaw who can rule the
state.
He therefore appealed to the
people to think wisely in the
forthcoming gubernatorial
election in the state, dump the
PDP which caused hardship within
the 5-years they’ve been in power
and vote for the APC which is
ready to bring about positive and
realistic changes in the whole
country.
The Adamawa governorship
election is about a month away
and the political parties are
gearing up for the competition.
The PDP held its primaries last
week and the Adamawa State
acting governor Ahmadu Fintiri
defeated other aspirants in the
party , clinching 624 votes during
Saturday election in Yola, thereby
becoming PDP candidate for the
October 11 governorship election
in the state.
Meanwhile, a serving Senator,
Bindo Jibrilla won the APC
primaries, polling 2,718 votes.
The Independent National
Electoral Commission scheduled
the Adamawa election for October
11, 2014, after the former
governor Murtala Nyako, was
removed from his office on July
15, 2014, by the state House of
Assembly.

Victims Of Circumstance: 5 People That Ebola Has Made Famous
Ebola arrived Lagos in July and has
left a mark that Nigerians will not
forget.
The Ebola virus came into Nigeria
in July 2014 and since then it has
been a story of fear and faith for
many Nigerians.
The disease has been contained in
the country and many who were
previously infected have recovered and been discharged.
However, long after this Ebola
scourge is gone, there are some
people that Nigerians will never
forget.
Here are 5 people that Ebola has
made famous:
1. Patrick Sawyer: The Liberian-
American shot to infamy after he
came into Nigeria despite
knowing that he was infected
with Ebola. Sawyer died in Lagos
on July 25 but not before he had
infected some of the people who
came in contact with him, the
bulk of them being health
workers.
2. Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh: Dr.
Adadevoh was one of the
medical personnel, at the First
Consultant Hospital in Obalende,
who treated Patrick Sawyer when
he was diagnosed of the disease.
She is credited with keeping
Sawyer within the hospital
despite pressure to release him.
Dr. Adadevoh died on August 19,
2014 and many Nigerians view
her as a heroine for her brave
actions.
3. Olu-Ibukun Koye: Koye, an
ECOWAS diplomat, only recently
shot to the limelight when it was
discovered that he had made
contact with Sawyer but fled
quarantine and travelled to Port
Harcourt where he was secretly
treated by a doctor until he
recovered and returned to
Lagos. Koye is alive and well and
has been given a clean bill of
health but the doctor who
treated him, died of the disease
and infected others before his
death. The Nigerian government
is reportedly considering
whether charges of
Manslaughter can be leveled
against the diplomat.
4. Dr. Iyke Sam Enemuo: Enemuo
is the doctor who secretly
treated infected diplomat, Koye
in Port Harcourt. Enemuo died of
Ebola on Friday, August 22, 2014
after infecting his wife, sister and
a co-patient with the disease.
5. Dennis Akagha: Akagha was
engaged to be married to Justina
Ejelonu, a 25-year-old nurse who
attended to Patrick Sawyer.
Ejelonu infected Akagha but he
was cured of the disease while
she died with their unborn baby
in her womb. Akagha has since
spoken out about the stigma
associated with life after Ebola
after he was left without a job.
