Charlyboy, AKA Areafada has made headlines recently on different
newspapers for posing nude in a picture. In this interview, the
enigmatic social crusader and the eccentric one has finally disclosed
why he posed nude in the picture that went viral on the internet. The
Excerpt.
Question: One wonders where you have been this period that the media has gone wild about you.
I
have been hibernating in my room, sipping fruit punch on the rocks, and
having a damn good laugh at some peoples timid, conservative and myopic
mindset, and I will always thank God that am different and special, and
not bugged down by such pedestrian intelligence.
Question: We are wondering why you continue to keep quiet over series of stories that are being circulated about you.
You
know I will always remain cool with a smile when everybody is loosing
sleep over my actions or inactions. No matter what, anything I do
attracts attention, and even at that, not doing anything at all
attracts attention. Everyone is entitled to his or her perception of
the brand. what they feel or believe the brand represents doesn’t
really matter. We all see an issue from where ever we stand, so if you
are an artiste, you will for instance see the so-called nude picture
from a creative standpoint. If you are a deeper life kind of person,
you will start to moralize and may even paint me the devil. For me, it
all comes with the territory; I’m an entertainer and an artiste, so if
people start to swallow panadol on my behalf, should that be my
concern? I know damn too well who and what I am and that is why am
severely myself, because I believe in me, as a result, I don’t give a
damn what you think that I am, because I already know who I am, and am
confident in that knowledge. So why should I have anxiety over my
playfulness and youthfulness. I no send anybody massageoooo.
Question: You filed a suit against National Mirror; at what point is the case now?
My
case is still in court with the National Mirror, I know some dumb asses
would feel like, Oh, he just wanted to make noise. He is not serious
about the matter, but I guess time will tell who the real fools are. I
know some people in this country feel like because they have money,
they can buy anything even justice they don’t even deserve. Lagos high
court went on vacation over the past months so as soon as they come
back in the next few weeks, the matter will be called up. And let me
warn, if ‘magomago’ gets into my matter, I will show Nigerians another
side that they have never seen before. Don’t forget that I on my own
have faced corporate bodies in this country and have won, so Jimo
Ibrahim and National Mirror are small fries in my book. I have taken on
bigger platforms. Una go hearam soon, stay tuned.
Question:
Even while battling with National Mirror on the controversial issue of
gay and lluminati, your nude picture hit the internet again. How did
this happen?
So? Don’t I look good for my age? How does
one get to look that good if you don’t take care of yourself? Did you
see crawcraw on my body? If you see nudity, what I see is discipline. I
challenge you to find in this Nigeria, 61 year old men who look like me
and are in the best mental, physical and spiritual shape.
You
think it is moimoi? Do you know how hard I work to keep that body like
that? How else, if it is not discipline? I don’t drink, I no longer
smoke cigarettes, I don’t womanize, I workout every day and I watch
what I eat. I do so many things that I know a lot of people don’t have
the will power to do. On my blackberry profile, I post different
pictures on it, sometimes it’s all about my beautiful children,
sometimes it’s about my parents, most of the time it is my beautiful
wife, sometimes it’s about the people I inspire, the youths. Of cause,
if I want to be mischievous, I post me sleeping in my casket, or
showing off my beautiful body. So why are they not spreading the
pictures of my fine wife and children? Why are they not spreading the
pictures of my struggles or all the motivational things that I do,
can’t you see where their minds are? In the gutter of cause…
Question: What were you trying to achieve by displaying such picture on your Blackberry profile?
I’m
in the comfort of my house doing my thing, and you are asking me what
I’m trying to achieve. People in my area see me every morning jogging
as if I am training for Olympics, and I should not celebrate with
myself the result of all the hard work I have been doing over the
years? What is your damn business whatever picture I put up on my own
phone? If you are on my contact and you see that kind of picture, why
don’t you ignore it? But no, they will be the first to put it on their
own profile and be circulating it all over the world; I really don’t
mind shaooooo, because I know I look too good for my age. God worked
overtime on my body and made me ever special. I thank him every day for
that, so dey there dey ask me what am trying to achieve. All of una
with una boring and frustrated life, no be una subject of discussion
for the past one month? You no see how my matter they sweet for them
mouth, abegi…abegi. And who said they were nude pictures anyway? Did
you see my blocos there? At best you can say that the pictures were
suggestive; everyone knows am a big tease.
Question:
Obviously, this is not the first time you are posing suggestive in a
picture. Can you tell us why you keep doing this?
Why not?
I’m happy with my body and I’m telling you that I work very hard to
keep it in shape. I have it, so I’m flaunting it; do you mind?
Question:
We understand that most of your fans are mainly young people. Don’t you
think that appearing like that in a picture could easily be
misinterpreted by them?
My life story has inspired many
young people, they understand my playfulness and my youthfulness,
because there has been so many positives things I have done and still
doing in the past 35yrs of the brand. They remember my contribution to
the entertainment scene in Nigeria, how I brought respect and big money
into the scene. Listen, no need to blow my trumpet, you know my
contributions and how I have championed many other peoples causes. So
they know and they understand and I’m happy about that. If you can’t
get it, na your business be that.
Question: How positive or negative do these several rumors affect your business?
My
own is that I’m making Bank, and business is good. Do not forget that I
am a communicator. Most of the things you consider negatives may be
positives to me, and even when you force the negatives too much on my
face, I will convert them to positives. I am on top of my game sha.
Question: How do your children feel, seeing their father appearing waggish?
They are so tickled with my swag. They like the Charlyboy character but they love Mr Charles Oputa; that is who they know.
Question: What would you consider the worst story ever about you?
The
one they said that I ‘said” when I did not say. That is why we are in
court. Enough of this jungle journalism. It is getting so obnoxious.

Two Dead in Shooting Near Empire State Building
NEW YORK —A gunman who New York City authorities said had just
gunned down a former co-worker was fatally shot Friday morning by
police officers in a shootout that injured nine other people outside
the Empire State Building.
A
41-year-old man was declared dead at the scene, Police Commissioner
Raymond Kelly said, and nine other people were either wounded or grazed
during the shooting that unfolded around 9 a.m.
Jeffrey Johnson, 58, who had been laid off by apparel company Hazan Import Corp., was the gunman, Mr. Kelly said.
Mr. Johnson apparently shot his former co-worker three times in front of 10 West 33rd St. with a .45 caliber handgun, he said.
A relative identified the victim as Steven Ercolino, 41 years old, an employee at Hazan Import.
"He was an incredible family man, loved his family," said a woman who identified herself as his sister-in-law, Andrea. Mr. Ercolino did not have children, she said, but was the "best uncle to my children." She described him as generous, fun loving and compassionate, and said he loved his work selling handbags.
"He had an incredible life ahead of him," she said.
As Mr. Johnson fled east on West 33rd Street, his gun inside a black bag under his arm, a construction worker followed him and alerted nearby police, Mr. Kelly said.
"As the two
officers approached Johnson, he pulled his .45 caliber semiautomatic
pistol from his bag and fired on the officers, who returned fire,
killing him," Mr. Kelly said.
Officials said some of the injured may have been shot by police engaged in a gun battle with Mr. Johnson, who lives in Manhattan and worked at the company for six years.
"I ask everyone to keep the victims in their thoughts and in their prayers," Mr. Bloomberg said. "This is a terrible tragedy and there's no doubt that the situation would have been even more tragic but for some extraordinary acts of heroism."
The rush hour shooting near one of the
city's most famous landmarks comes on the heels of several other public
shooting sprees, including one inside a Colorado movie theater last
month and another at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin several weeks ago.
Nine wounded bystanders were taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center for treatment. All had non-life threatening injuries, according to a Fire Department spokesman.
Louis Lleras, 32 years old, was visiting his sister Erica Solar, 30, whom he identified as one of the victims of the shooting. She was being treated at Bellevue early Friday afternoon.
Ms. Solar work as a receptionist on 37th Street, he said, and was on her way to get a cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts when she heard shots. Mr. Lleras said she took a few steps before realizing she had been shot in the back of her left knee.
"They don't know if she was shot by the cops or the gunman," Mr. Lleras said. "She just heard shots and fell to the ground afterwards."
"She's in good shape, she just wants to go home," he added. " The bullets are still there. They don't know whether to take it out or leave it there."
Ms. Solar's neighbor, Christopher Collins, 44, said he was on his way to work when he saw the mother of two bleeding on the ground with paper towels on her leg and stayed with her until an ambulance arrived.
"You never expect to see a friend of yours bleeding on the street," he said. "She was just nervous," he said, saying she was asking questions like, "Am I going to lose my leg? Am I going to die?"
Witness Darrin Deleuil, 46, said he saw the shooter, wearing a suit and fedora, shoot one victim point blank on 33rd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenue. "He looked like an old gangster," he said. "He looked real calm to me. He made sure he didn't miss him."
Chris Watkins, 32, was waiting for his wife, who was completing an errand inside a nearby building, when he saw a man running through the crowd carrying a handgun and wearing a backpack.
"He was shooting toward the crowd, not toward anyone in particular," said Mr. Watkins, who ran into a nearby Duane Reade. He later saw four people lying in the intersection of 34th St. and Fifth Ave.
Rebecca Fox, 27, was on her way to work and saw four people who had been shot.
"I saw the man dead on the ground in front of the Empire State Building, then I saw the other man down 33rd Street. The man who the shooter had been chasing," said Ms. Fox, who works at Kick Design, a brand agency.
She described the first few minutes after the shooting as frenetic, with police running down the street and taping off the crime scene. "It was a scene out of 'C.S.I.,'" said Ms. Fox, referencing the popular television show. "But it was real, you know?"
Jill Greenwood, an account supervisor at Prosek Partners in the Empire State Building, said she heard several gun shots beginning at 9:04 a.m. Friday. In the minutes afterward, people inside the building began streaming out because an echo from the shots made it sound like they were coming from inside the building.
Later, she was told by building security the shooting took place outside the front of the entrance to the building's observation deck at 34th Street and 5th Avenue.
"We heard these gunshots, it sounded like fireworks. So, we both got up and went to the window and looked down," said Ms. Greenwood, a 30-year-old New York resident.
"I got out of a cab right there five minutes before it happened," she added.
Mike Chang, 33 years old, an employee of Krux, an online data company with offices in the Empire State Building, said he was walking off the subway toward the building at around 9:03 a.m. when he saw people running toward him yelling "gun."
"Then I saw Empire State Building employees running toward me and I thought it was real," Mr. Chang said.
He walked around the building to the 34th Street entrance and went in and up to his offices on the 42nd floor. "I thought it would be safer in the office than on the street," he said.
A spokeswoman for the Empire State Building Company said that the building is fully operational while the NYPD investigates the incident.

Victor Moses To Join Mikel Obi in Chelsea FC
Whelan had infuriated Chelsea by speaking publicly about the negotiations in a bid to drive up the price. But Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo is on the verge of getting his man at the fifth attempt after Wigan confirmed they have accepted an improved offer and have given the 21-year-old permission to discuss a contract with the west London club.
“The club can confirm that after four unsuccessful bids from Chelsea for Victor Moses, a fifth bid has today finally met the valuation and terms set by Wigan Athletic and been accepted. The player has been given permission to speak with Chelsea,” a statement on Wigan’s website confirmed.
It has been reported that Wigan were demanding around £9 million for Moses, who joined the Latics from Crystal Palace in 2010 and has risen to prominence after a series of impressive displays last season.

Barcelona defeat Real Madrid 3-2 in first leg of Super Cup
Barcelona survived a late fightback from Real Madrid and even a
horror show by their goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, to win the first leg of
their Super Copa game 3-2.
The first half ended without much action, but the game sprung into life in the second half, after Cristiano Ronaldo headed Madrid into the lead. The reply from the Catalans was instant. Javier Mascherano swept the ball over for Pedro, who controlled superbly and slotted the ball past Iker Casillas.
Lionel Messi put Barça into the lead from the spot, after Andres Iniesta was fouled by Sergio Ramos. Iniesta was also instrumental in his side’s third goal, as he found Xavi steaming into the box and sent a delicate pass into his path, for him to finish past Casillas.
With his team coasting away with a two-goal lead, ahead of their second leg next week, Victor Valdes inexplicably dallied on the ball and allowed Angel Di Maria pull one back.

Fulani herdsmen kill two farmers in reprisal attack in Plateau State
At least two persons have been reported dead in Barakin-Ladi Local
Govenment Area of Plateau State following a reprisal attack by some
persons suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
The herdsmen were alleged to be on a revenge mission to the area following the killing of three of their kinsmen recently.
It was gathered that the Fulani herdsmen ambushed a group of youths working on their farms and killed them while six others sustained several degree of injuries.
Executive Director of Stefanos Foundation, Mr Mark Lipdo, who confirmed the attack, said the herdsmen attacked the people in their farms on Thursday and destroyed their farms.
He said: “They came into the village with their guns, shooting at villagers. One villager was injured on the leg,” adding that the attack was followed, on Thursday, with the killing of two persons.
Also confirming the luciferous incident, the Plateau State police spokesman, Mr Emmanuel Abuh, said that no arrest had been made yet.
According to him, the victims had gone to their farms, but on their way back, they were waylaid and killed with guns by the herdsmen.
It will be recalled that three Fulani men were killed at Sho village in Barakin-Ladi Local Government Area of the state recently by people suspected to be natives (Berom), while one of the four people escaped by the whiskers.

TOUCHING STORY
SON: 'Mummy, may I ask you a question?'
MUM: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the woman.
SON: 'Mummy, how much do you make an hour?'
MUM: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the woman said angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much...
...do you make an hour?'
MUM: 'If you must know, I make 50 dollar an hour.'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: 'Mummy, may I please borrow 25 dollar?'
The mother was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other non sense,
then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed.
Think about why you are being so selfish.
I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door..
The woman sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After about an hour or so, the woman had calmed down , and started to think:
Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that 25 dollar and she really didn't ask for money very often.
The woman went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
'Are you asleep, son?' She asked.
'No Mummy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the woman. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the 25 dollar you asked for.'
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you Mummy!' he yelled.
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
The woman saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.
The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his mother.
'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the mother grumbled.
'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.
'Mummy, I have 50 dollar now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'
The mother was crushed. She put his arms around her little son, and she begged for his forgiveness.
MORAL LESSON:
It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that 50 dollar worth of your time with someone you love.
If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

New research: Semen is good for women’s health, fights depression, increases affection
Semen is good for women’s mental and physical health, a new study claims.
Seminal fluid contains at least three anti-depressants as well as mood-altering chemicals which increase affection and induce sleep.
Researchers also claim that women who have regular unprotected sex are less depressed and perform better on cognitive tests.
The State University of New York survey examined the sex lives and mental health of 293 females.
Seminal fluid contains other chemicals beside sperm – including estrone and oxytocin, which elevates mood, and cortisol, which is known to increase affection.
It also contains the antidepressant thyrotropin-releasing hormone, sleep-inducing melatonin and well-known mood-booster serotonin.
Researchers Gallup and Burch, along with the psychologist Steven Platek, hypothesised that women having unprotected sex should be less depressed than others due to human semen’s mind-altering ‘drugs’.
They rounded up 293 college females from the university’s Albany campus and gave them an anonymous questionnaire about their sex lives.
Recent sexual activity without condoms was used as an indirect measure of seminal plasma circulating in the woman’s body.
Participants also completed the Beck Depression Inventory, a commonly used clinical measure of depressive symptoms.
The study, published in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour, showed that women who engaged in sex and “never” used condoms showed significantly fewer depressive symptoms than did those who “usually” or “always” used condoms.
The non-condom-using, sexually active women also showed fewer depressive symptoms than those who abstained from sex altogether.
Meanwhile, sexually-active and “promiscuous” heterosexual women who used condoms were just as depressed as those practising total abstinence.
Researchers propose that happiness among sexually-active women appears to be a function of semen’s chemicals pulsing through body.

What Big Brother has joined: “I’m here in Nigeria to show Goldie I love her” – Prezzo

The 32-year-old Kenyan who is currently visiting in Nigeria, says he did not just travel ‘all the way from Kenya to play in Nigeria’; but to come and express his feelings to a woman nature brought his way in the Big Brother star game house.
Prezzo, who apologised to Nigerians for the way he treated Goldie in the house, says he’s announcing his interest in Goldie publicly because they both met publicly in the Big Brother house; adding that he is ready to do whatever it takes to make her his Mrs.
‘I was not able to express all my feelings to Goldie in the house due to paranoia and I am ready to come and fight for a prize that worth it and that will make me a real winner…’
No word yet from Goldie.
